Swiss photographer collages famous landmarks

March 1, 2011

Swiss travel agent turned photographer, Corinne Vionnet, constructs these multi-image collages of world-famous landmarks using 200-300 tourist-taken snapshots. She got the idea one day while observing tourists photographing the Leaning Tower of Pisa, noting that most people stood in approximately the same place when taking their photographs. When she got home, she started to scan the internet for these shots, and found that they all looked strikingly similar. Vionnet then came up with the idea to combine the shots for a painterly impressionistic look. The works have since become a series which Vionnet calls, Photo Opportunities.
